Chakra Guided Visualizations

Our bodies always seek to reveal the truth to us. It helps us transform the parts of ourselves that need healing. Understanding the chakras, through psycho-education and guided visualization exercises, helps one to learn how to heal, balance and clear their chakras of blocked energy often created by emotional traumas, unhealthy patterns or stress, by restoring harmony and balance to their energy field. Chakra visualizations can uplift your life by clearing out and enlivening your vital energy centers. It is a direct way to heal ourselves on the physical, emotional, and mental levels. This facilitates awakening to ourselves as spiritual beings, as the Truth Of Who We Are.

What Are Chakras?
Chakras are centers within our energy field where Life Force flows into and out of our being, on the levels of form. As we focus on the Light within us we spontaneously release what stands in the way of our experience of Light, Love, and Wellbeing.

What Do They Look Like?
In different people, and at different times, chakras can appear in a variety of ways. There is generally a predominant color associated with each chakra that corresponds to the same colors and arrangement of colors in a rainbow – from red at the base to violet at the crown. However, I often see colors within a chakra that are different than the traditional color associated with it, as well as a variety of textures, feelings and layers.

During a Chakra visualization session, I conduct guided visualizations connecting to each individual chakra, based on what the client is experiencing and what area of their life they would like to work on. Sometimes, we pick a card from the Chakra Healing and Balancing Card Deck to gain deeper insight. Through the visualization, the client accesses vast, deep, multilayered vortexes of energy, much like entering an energetic doorway into their inner being, where all the vibrations of all their lives are stored.

Seven Main Chakras:

Although there are many other chakra centers within the whole of our being, in regards to chakra visualizations, we talk about the seven main ones that are the most associated with our physical / emotional / mental / spiritual being, with each one related to a specific aspect of our lives. There are many different perspectives on what each chakra relates to and many different variations within each individual, however, the following are excellent guidelines to each chakra:

The Root Chakra, which is the 1st Chakra, is at the base of the spine and is associated with the color red. It is linked to our connection and loyalty to our “tribe,” family, and fellow human beings, our connection with Mother Earth, physical groundedness, survival instincts, pleasure / pain, and sexuality. The large intestine, rectum, and some function of the kidneys are associated with the first chakra.

The Sacral Chakra, which is the 2nd Chakra, is located just below the navel. Associated with the color orange, it is linked to our inner child, emotions, creativity, and spontaneity. The reproductive system, testicles and ovaries, urinary bladder, sexuality, and the kidneys are associated with the second chakra.

The Solar Plexus, which is the 3rd Chakra, goes from just below the heart down to the navel. It is associated with the color yellow. It is linked to our internalized parent, “shoulds,” selfesteem, desire, reaction to criticism, personal power, and ego – our sense of an individual, separate self. The organs that are associated with the third chakra are liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, and the small intestine.

The Heart Chakra, which is the 4th Chakra, is in the center of the chest. It is associated with the colors green and pink. It is linked to love (as a union of spiritual and human love), compassion, confidence, trust, and inspiration. This chakra is connected with emotion, selflove, harmony, trust, and growth. The heart and arms are associated with the fourth chakra.

The Throat Chakra, which is the 5th Chakra, is at the base of the throat and is associated with the color blue. It is linked to speaking, communication and being our truth, taking responsibility for our own needs, surrendering our will to the Divine, trusting Source, decision making, personal authority, and our ability to manifest our creative impulses. The lungs and the throat are associated with the fifth chakra.

The Third Eye, which is the 6th Chakra, is in the center of the forehead. It is associated with the color indigo and is linked to inner vision, unity perspective, divine understanding, discernment, wisdom, intuition, and intelligence. The brain, face, nose, and eyes are associated with the sixth chakra.

The Crown Chakra, which is the 7th Chakra, is at the very top of the head. It is associated with the colors violet and pure white Light. It is linked to our awareness of our Oneness with Higher Power, Source, Divine, integration of the Whole, living in the now, meaning, devotion, inspiration, and higher alignment. The seventh chakra does not have a corresponding organ but is related to the whole being.
